The i7 RAPTOR supports LTO-7 through LTO-10 full-height tape drives. LTO 10’s expanded capacity, higher density, and improved performance further advance the strengths of the LTO value. The combined density benefits of the library and the drives positioning them as a leading technology for safeguarding rapidly growing volumes of unstructured data. Incorporating LTO 10 with up to 40 TB of native capacity per cartridge (and up to 100 TB compressed) means a single i7 RAPTOR cabinet provides up to 80 PB of native storage (over 200 PB compressed). Customers benefit from this exceptional storage density through greatly reduced total ownership costs and robust cyber resilience—making it an ideal platform for long-term data preservation in a data-driven world.

Quantum Scalar i7 RAPTOR Makes Tape Easier to Deploy and Manage

Quantum Scalar i7 RAPTOR starts as small as 100 licensed slots and can scale larger than 2,000 slots in a scale-out, single cabinet with a standard rack-like footprint. The Capacity-on-Demand (CoD) model allows customers to use both licensed and unlicensed slots, with configurable options to accommodate data growth specific to customer needs.
